Curtis Files & Curtis Go

Terms of Use

Effective 6 November 2026

1. Scope and agreement

These terms govern Curtis Files at file.curtis.hk and Curtis Go at go.curtis.hk. The operator of those services (the Operator) may be contacted at lui@curtis.hk. By accepting these terms or using a service after the terms have been brought to your attention, you agree to them. If acting for another person or organisation, you must have authority to bind that person or organisation.

2. Permission to use the services

Subject to applicable law, the Operator has sole discretion to decide whom to invite, which functions each person may use and whether to continue that permission. The Operator may refuse, limit, suspend or withdraw access, with or without giving reasons or advance notice, except where the law requires otherwise. Permission is personal, limited to the purpose for which it was given and revocable. Previous access creates no entitlement to a further invitation.

Only the Operator may create or change short links. An invited guest may use a valid upload code within its stated limits. A recipient may use a shared link to receive the material made available to them, subject to any password or other restriction. Possession of a link confers no right to administer the service or republish its contents.

3. Files, links and your rights

You retain any rights you hold in material you submit. You grant the Operator and its service providers a non-exclusive, royalty-free permission to host, copy, transmit and display that material to the extent reasonably necessary to provide the requested service, enforce these terms and comply with law. This permission ends when the material is removed, except to the extent reasonably required for lawful retention or the resolution of an outstanding claim. The Privacy Policy governs the handling of personal data.

You must hold the rights and permissions needed to upload, share or link to the material, including any permissions required from people whose data it contains. Select appropriate recipients, expiry and password settings, and keep your own copy of important files. A recipient can retain or forward a downloaded file. A short link can point to a different destination after it is created.

4. Prohibited conduct

You must not use either service for unlawful purposes, infringement, phishing, fraud, malware distribution, harassment or the unauthorised disclosure of personal information. You must not impersonate the Operator, mislead anyone about a destination, guess or enumerate private links or codes, bypass access controls, or deliberately impair another person’s use of the services.

5. Moderation and reports

The Operator may investigate reports, restrict an invitation, block a destination, remove material or disable a share, temporarily or permanently. The Operator may act immediately where it reasonably considers this necessary to contain harm, protect the services or comply with law. Send abuse or rights complaints to lui@curtis.hk, identifying the relevant link, the grounds of complaint and how to contact you. Send only what is necessary to identify the issue.

6. Availability and liability

The Operator may change or discontinue either service. No particular period of storage, uninterrupted availability or continued operation of a third-party destination is promised. To the extent permitted by law and insofar as reasonable, the Operator excludes liability for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable when you accepted these terms. Nothing in these terms excludes or restricts liability for fraud, for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for any other liability or right that the law does not allow the parties to exclude or restrict.

7. Changes and disputes

The Operator may revise these terms by publishing a dated version and giving reasonable notice of material changes. Changes apply prospectively. If any provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply so far as they can operate independently. Hong Kong SAR law governs these terms. The courts of Hong Kong have non-exclusive jurisdiction. This clause preserves any mandatory protections and rights of recourse available to you under applicable law.
